If you prefer to read the entire novel as one book, versus chapters at a time on Kindle Vella, sign up for my email list on the home page, to be notified when I release it as a stand-alone Kindle book and/or paperback/hardcover on Amazon. This won't happen for a least a few months. For now, enjoy the chapters on Kindle Vella!
This book has a lot of depressing themes, especially in the beginning, but also a ton of hope, adventure, and taking on challenges. If you are feeling stuck in any area of life this may be for you. If you feel restricted from the goals and life you are meant for, this novel can help inspire you with symbolic themes of breaking through impossible-seeming barriers.
The year is 2020 and Alena and her little girl Orca are living a depressing dystopian reality with a gray sky, dust and no hope, when Orca finds a magical ring, dropped by its inventor (a mid-twenties software hacker), who was murdered. Can Alena figure out the mystery of the ring and how it works? She has to journey to find wilderness people to help unlock the secrets of the ring, and a security guard joins her to help hide from drones and get to the high-security lab where the only person with answers can be found.
In this world love is illegal, plants are banned, and there is no joy at all. But will this journey change everything?
We've got drones, despair, dust, and a whole lot of determination to revolutionize the planet to create the kind of bliss that is possible -- and the pure happiness that the ring reveals to Alena when it transports her to a beautiful world.
Even if you don't normally like science-fiction, dystopian novels, adventure, etc., I think you would really like this novel. I don't follow the normal formulas, and all of my books have themes of inspiring you to be your best self!
